Donald R. Boyken has been active in the construction and development industry for more than 40 years. His firm, Boyken International, was instrumental in assisting the new city of Dunwoody in designing its successful form of government and assisted the city with its start up in December 2008.

Mr. Boyken built his company Boyken International to its ranking as the  the 34th largest program management firm in the United States, before selling the firm to Hill International in December 2009.  He currently holds the position of senior vice president at Hill.

Mr. Boyken  serves on the board of advisors for the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.  He has served as a planning commissioner for the city of Sandy Springs, president of the Dunwoody Homeowners’ Association and as member of the board of trustees for a private school in North Georgia.  He has also served on the board of governors at Dunwoody Country Club.

 Mr. Boyken is married to Barbara (Bobbie) Boyken. They have five children and two grandchildren.

Owens is a senior vice president and community executive with the Bank of North Georgia, responsible for day-to-day operations of offices in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.  She began with the Bank of North Georgia in 2007 after 25 years in banking in various leadership positions. She is involved in her community, serving on the board of Brandon Hall School in Sandy Springs and two chamber boards. She is a member of Sandy Springs Society, Mercy Care Wings and in the 2009 class of Leadership Sandy Springs.

Owens has lived in Sandy Springs for 19 years with her husband, Marshall.  They have two grown children.

Mahaffey is the chief of external affairs at the Perimeter Community 
Improvement Districts. She designed and implemented the department of external affairs for the PCIDs that develops the initiatives to create connectivity and improve live, work, walk, play concepts. Dr. Jeffrey Priluck, founder of ‘Dentistry With a Difference’ in Dunwoody, attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He completed a teaching fellowship at EmoryUniversity Dental School where he served as a clinical instructor.  In 1978, Dr. Priluck opened his private practice in its present Dunwoody location.
 Jeff received his Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry after an intensive 5 year curriculum and served as President of the Georgia Academy.  He has been honored by Governor Sonny Perdue.

Fred launched Hotel Equities,  in 1989.  He began as a general manager at age 21.   After many years in key positions with top hotels, he founded Hotel Equities and became a Marriott franchise partner. Fred then co-founded Day Hospitality Group with Peyton Day. After a successful 10-year run, he purchased the management segment of DHG and re-named the company Hotel Equities.

Fred is a graduate of Georgia State University (MBA in Business) and Miami Dade College (AS degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management). He is a Certified Hotel Administrator through the American Lodging Association. He is Chairman of Marriott’s Fairfield Inn Franchise Advisory Board and serves on the Franchise Advisory Board for Marriott’s SpringHill Suites. Fred also serves on the Advisory Board for Georgia State University’s Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality and he sits on the boards of both the Atlanta and Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureaus.

Dallas, his wife and five children live in Dunwoody.  Bob is former director and past president of Safe Kids of Georgia and served on DeKalb County’s Children’s Initiative and Collaborative Board. He is a board member and past president of the Spruill Center for the Arts.

Dallas is a former National CPS board member.  He is a current board member and past secretary of the National Governor’s Highway Safety Association.  Dallas also serves as vice chair of the Georgia Driver’s Education Commission, and as a board member for the Georgia DOT TIME and TRIP Taskforces, the Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Advisory Board, and the NADCP DWI Court Committee.

Michael Dendinger is an attorney and CPA practicing in Dunwoody. His practice, located at 1858 Independence Square at the corner of Chamblee-Dunwoody and Peeler Road, consists of small business corporate law, taxation and estate planning.  Along with his place as a board member of the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce, he serves on the Dunwoody Audit Committee as recording secretary and is a member of the Dunwoody Rotary Club. Dendinger was responsible for the incorporation of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce and the Dunwoody Convention and Visitors Bureau.

With a vision of technology and emerging market trends, DeVita is a natural leader in high profile projects and startup companies. In 1999 Joe co-authored first Linux Edition of upgrading and repairing PC’s and founded the first brick and mortar store for the Linux operating system. In 2003 Joe led a development team as the principal investigator for an SBIR Grant, “Indoor Orientation and Wayfinding Aid for Persons with Vision Loss” with the National Institute of Health.

DeVita has been actively involved with the city of Dunwoody effort since 2005. As one of the original executive board members of the Citizens for Dunwoody, he chaired community outreach education effort and led the information technology task force group. He is an active board member of the Dunwoody Homeowners’ Association and the founding organizer the of Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce. A native of Boston, Mass., Joe is a U.S. Air Force veteran and has lived in Dunwoody area since 1985.

Dr. Margaret Ehrlich is a native Georgian and wife of Dr. Jonathan Ehrlich.  She began her education with a undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Georgia and completed her
graduate work in mathematics education at Georgia State University. 

In 2003,she joined Georgia Perimeter College as the department chair at Clarkston Campus.  Under her leadership, the department was the recipient of the 2005 Regents Teaching Excellence Award presented by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents.  In 2007, she moved to the Dunwoody Campus and has since served as the dean of mathematics, computer science and engineering for GPC.  Dr. Ehrlich has written several mathematical articles and three test preparation books.  She is a classical pianist and family historian. Since 2008 she has served as a board member of The Friends of Georgia Archives.

Jennifer Howard

Jennifer Howard lives in Buckhead and has worked in Dunwoody since 2008 for Edward Jones, a financial services firm.  Prior to joining Edward Jones, she was a management consultant for IBM specializing in Supply chain planning and Optimization.  

Jennifer has been a Chamber Member since its inception and is part of the Chamber’s YPOD organization.  She is also a member of the Women in Mathematics where she mentors eight grade girls who have a talent for math.  She is on the Georgia Tech North Metro Alumni Association Board and was the founder of a women’s diversity First Five Committee for IBM.   She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and has been a white water kayak instructor and swimming teacher.   

Jennifer is a graduate of Georgia Tech in Industrial and Systems Engineering and served as a physics teaching assistance while at Georgia Tech.

Bill Grant, who started building homes in 1981, has completed more than 300 structures in the Dunwoody community.  He is the treasurer of the Spruill Center for the Arts. Grant and his wife, Peggy, started “Light Up Dunwoody,” which has become a Christmas tradition over the past decade. He has been given recognition by the Rotary Club and has served as grand marshal in the 4th of July parade. He adopted the care of five traffic islands in Dunwoody for more than 20 years, and is active in Dunwoody committees, as well as a major supporter in many local charities.

 

 

 

 

Larry Feldman

Larry Feldman lives in Dunwoody since 1994 and has had his law offices in Dunwoody since 2002.  His practice centers on Real Estate and in the past he has worked as a litigator.   Prior to establishing his practice, Larry was in the technology industry, primarily selling software.

Larry has an accounting degree from the University of Florida and a Masters in Finance from the University of Houston.  He obtained his law degree from John Marshall University and passed the bar in 2006.  

Larry is married to Kathy and has two sons who are currently enrolled in college.

Doug McKendrick has lived in metro Atlanta, mostly in Sandy Springs, since 1972, but for 31 years his business home has been in DeKalb County at Park Place Shopping Center, which landed inside the city limits when Dunwoody gained cityhood in December 2008.

McKendrick didn’t start out to be a restaurateur. In the mid-1970s, he was a CPA who decided he wanted to go into the real estate business. Industry leaders suggested the timing wasn’t right to venture into real estate due to the economy. Instead, he worked as a financial vice president for a restaurateur. In 1979, the original developers of Park Place asked McKendrick to build a restaurant in the shopping center.

Brent C. Morris moved to Dunwoody in 1978. He is a graduate of Dunwoody Elementary School, Dunwoody High School and
Georgia State University with a B.B.A. in risk management & insurance. 

Mr. Morris  has held positions with GE Capital Insurance, American International Group, Metropolitan Life Insurance, and Humana.  He became a partner with Peachtree Benefit Group in 2008.  Specializing in medical
insurance, his role includes broker and consultant to commercial
clients.

Mr. Morris began serving as a director with the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce in January 2010. He is the chairman of the Economic Development Committee for the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce.  He is board member of the Dunwoody Soap Box Derby Association.  He is the President of the Chamblee Business Association.  As an active Kiwanis member, he is Lt. Governor-elect of Kiwanis Division 14. 

 

William J. Mulcahy

William Mulcahy has lived in Dunwoody since 2001.  He is a CPA and is President and CEO of Mulcahy Accounting and Risk Consulting firm based in Dunwoody.  One of his engagements is the Auditor for the City of Dunwoody.  Prior to starting his firm, for 15 years he was the Chief Audit Officer at Emory University and Emory Healthcare.    

Bill has been active in his profession as a Board Member and Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors and was the Chairman of the IIA's International Conference in Atlanta in 2010.  He is also Chair of the Advisory Board of the Internal Audit Center in the School of Accountancy of Kennesaw State University’s Coles College of Business.

Mulcahy earned his Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Administration from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Philadelphia University. 

Bill is married to Cheri and lives in the Ashworth subdivision.

Tate is the founder and chairman of the board of Digitel Corporation, a Georgia-based telecommunications company.   Tate has been active in the business community and has testified before the United States Senate Committee on Small Business regarding the regulatory issues confronting small business.   Tate also served on the Georgia State Senate - Electronic Commerce Study Committee as a member of the state of Georgia Digital Signatures Task Force.

Tate has and continues to serve his community as a past president and director with the Spruill Center for the Arts, past president and chairman of the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association. He is the chairman of the AVVBA Foundation, Inc. and is a member of the Business Executives for National Security. He is also a vice chairman of the board of the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau of Dunwoody.  Tate is married and has one grown son and a new grandson.

Throughout the many organizations in which she is involved, Thomas is known as an accomplished real estate professional.  She is recognized for her in-depth understanding of Georgia real estate contracts and serves as business development coach for new Keller Williams Agents.  She is an associate broker and principal of MJ Thomas and Associates, a real estate team with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Perimeter.  For the past 20 years Thomas and her family have lived in and been active within the Dunwoody community. As a member of the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce board and founding member, she has been instrumental in organizing chamber events, including the annual Dunwoody Music Festival and Chili Cook-Off.

Heyward Wescott has lived in Atlanta since 1979 and moved to Dunwoody in 1997. His is the owner of a Signage business located in Midtown Atlanta dealing with large commercial property owners regarding their signage needs.  

Heyward is active in the Dunwoody community as a board member of the DHA, Soap Box Derby and Lemonade Days.  He has been a supporter of the City of Dunwoody efforts since the inception.  

Heyward is married to Kristen and they have two daughters who attend Peachtree Charter Middle School & Chamblee Middle School. Heyward is a graduate of Georgia State University and The Portfolio Center.

 Dick Williams, a radio, television and newspaper journalist, has owned The Dunwoody Crier since 1996.  His column appeared in The Atlanta Journal from 1981 to 1999 and The Atlanta Business Chronicle from 1999 to 2008.

For 28 years, Williams has been moderator of “The Georgia Gang” seen now on WAGA-TV in Atlanta. 

Williams was born in California and reared in Kansas.  He received a degree in history from Georgetown University and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University.  In 2006 The Crier began a three-year campaign of reporting, analysis and advocacy that helped lead to the referendum creating the city of Dunwoody.
The  Crier, along with the Dunwoody Homeowners’ Association, sponsors the July 4 parade, and Light Up Dunwoody, the community’s major holiday event.
